Crypto Fear & Greed Index

The Crypto Fear & Greed Index is a very popular indicator, which as its name suggests measures the level of anxiety and euphoria on the cryptocurrency market.

It takes the form of a gauge that updates daily. On the far left is the level of extreme fear, and on the far right is the level of extreme euphoria.

It's an indicator that reflects the psychology of the mass of traders, and over the last few years it's proved that following the psychology of the group is the best way to lose your money. Yes, it's when Bitcoin and the market as a whole explode that people become euphoric, confident that all cryptos are offering good returns. But this only lasts for a short time, and often traps most individuals.

Conversely, when the market is bleeding, people are wary, selling at a discount and panicking that their cryptos will fall further. But it's during periods of panic and disinterest in the market that the best buying opportunities are to be found!
